Football in 2011

From the beginning of the lockout there has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not there will be a season this fall. Well, after some time and a lot of help from the courts it appears the NFL will return. The only question now is will it be a full season.

"I have been optimistic the whole time and it sounds like they are trying to work it out, the owners and players are trying to get everything figured out," the New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning said Monday in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "I do feel we will have a season.

"Hopefully, everything gets worked out quickly so we can get to training camp on time and get guys back to work and have a full season. That's what the fans want. Obviously, they are the ones that make this possible, so hopefully we can get it done for them."

July is right around the corner and no one has started a training camp yet. Will the players be emotionally and physically ready by the end of August? Only time will tell. I'd like to turn the attention now to the NBA as it's CBA will be expiring at the end of the day tomorrow.

How will the NFL lockout affect the NBA? Thoughts? I figure at this point not much. The NFL took their business to court. Although this may seem to be what was needed, or not needed depending on whom you're asking, it was a unique strategy that I doubt will be used or even required for the NBA to get it together.
